Happy 70th Priory!
The Priory School is proud to be celebrating its 70th Anniversary. It will be a yearlong celebration of an exceptional school and a caring community.
70 years ago, two Montreal mothers, Frances Ballantyne and Alphonsine Paré-Howlett, had a dream to start a co-educational child-centered elementary school where children would be encouraged to be children. Their dream was realized in 1947 with the creation of The Priory School which found its permanent residence in the “little red schoolhouse” located on The Boulevard.
Since its inception in 1947, The Priory School has remained true to its roots, throughout its 70 years of evolution, specializing in elementary education and providing its students with an environment that is nurturing, inspiring and aware of individual needs. Our hands-on exploration and discovery through STEAM and deeper learning projects, develops an enthusiasm for learning.
Today, under Principal Tim Peters' direction, the core values of caring and respect for others are interwoven with innovative academic programs enabling each child to feel confident enough to take risks and try something new. A place where all stakeholders recognize that happy children learn best, our School is a profoundly positive community and our inviting family atmosphere has become a hallmark at The Priory.
