CURRICULUM

OUR KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

The academic program at The Priory is designed to meet the changing needs of students as they develop intellectually, socially and emotionally.

The Priory Kindergarten program is designed to provide an intensive start to French learning experiences. Learning through play, exploration and experimentation are important components of the program. Through these mediums, children learn to express themselves confidently, interact harmoniously with others and gain a better understanding of the world around them. Learning through play allows each child to build a strong foundation from which to begin elementary school.

TALENT & PASSIONATE FACULTY

Priory students are very proud of their school and feel that they are an integral part of the school’s Mission. Each child is encouraged to explore their interests and discover their individual strengths. The core values of caring and respect for others are interwoven with innovative academic programs and project based learning enabling each child to feel confident enough to take risks and try something new.

ARTS PLASTIQUES

MATHEMATICS

The Mathematics program focuses on developing each student's problem-solving skills and encourages real world mathematical mastery, as students transfer knowledge to their day to day experiences. Students are encouraged to use manipulative materials as they model problems, to use appropriate mathematical language as they share ideas, and to validate their own solutions.

MUSIC

From the battery of tuned and un-tuned Orff instruments employed in Cycle One to the much anticipated recorder studies in Cycles Two and followed by the Band Program in Cycle Three, the students look forward to new instruments and the unique skills they develop at every step of their musical journey. At every stage, students sing and use the instrument that is inside each one of them.
