MISSION
The Priory's mission is to nurture each child's inherent curiosity, develop an enthusiasm for learning, and encourage intellectual and creative initiative, preparing the child to be a responsible and self-confident global citizen.
PHILOSOPHY
Our learning philosophy at The Priory is inextricably linked to the school's motto: "Happy Children Learn Best". The Priory believes that a child's earliest school years are the most important. It is at this time that the seeds of academic and life skills are sown. An environment that is nurturing, secure and aware of individual needs is the key to future success. The shared Priory philosophy believes that if every child feels valued and cared for, then in turn, they will achieve great things.

CREATIVITY
Learning at The Priory is designed to stimulate children's imaginations and develop their creative potential. The children are actively involved with the creative process, learning different ways to represent, express, and symbolize their ideas and feelings. Student artwork is celebrated and visible in our classrooms, hallways and through our art vernissages, giving children an opportunity to share their personal vision with others.
CURIOSITY
At its core, The Priory School is a profoundly positive and happy community founded upon the principles of self-respect, mutual respect, and environmental awareness. Children learn to value and honour themselves, and others regardless of differences, and treat others with empathy and compassion.
RESPECT
Priory students learn to embrace their curiosity and express their ideas and thoughts within a supportive community. Given that our students view their world as a welcoming place to explore, enjoy, and try something new, this positive outlook of themselves helps our students become not simply life-long learners, but rather, life-long contributors.
CARING
Committed to best practices in early childhood education, The Priory is a place where children are encouraged to be children, where childhood is cherished, and where meaningful learning takes place in a nurturing and caring environment.
COMMUNITY
The Priory is a close-knit inclusive community that feels like home. As an extension of the family, The Priory meets the social and emotional needs of each child. This whole-child approach means that each student feels secure, engaged, known and loved. As a true testament to the Priory’s eagerness to foster community and inspire children to create positive change in the world, the entire Priory teaching faculty and students proudly received the Montreal Community Cares Foundation (MCCF) award for ‘Community Leader, Elementary School’. This award recognizes Montrealers for being community champions actively involved in making Montreal a better place to live.
